Community Capacity Building

Community Capacity Building
Grow Your Roots
Building Knowledge, Growing Together
We were excited to launch our Community Capacity Building: Grow Your Roots programme in August 2025.
This project is created with and for people from refugee, asylum seeker, and migrant backgrounds.
It provides a space to learn more about life in Aotearoa New Zealand — your rights, responsibilities, practical information, and the many opportunities available. It’s also a place to ask questions, share experiences, and strengthen your participation in wider society.
By building knowledge together, you can make confident, informed decisions and take an active role in shaping your new life here.
We believe everyone has something valuable to bring, and we’re proud to walk this journey alongside you.
Through this project, we aim to empower people with the tools, confidence, and connections they need to thrive in their new home.
The first series is delivered online and in English.
Workshops are free to join and open to individuals and communities from refugee, migrant, or asylum seeker backgrounds.
The series starts with monthly legal workshops, Know Your Rights.
